As I viewed the NRDC's website, I found out that there are a great deal of underlying effects that will or have already occurred due to the rapidly melting Ice caps in the Arctic region. The speed at which this is happening is devastating, and I think we all need to begin to take measures to ensure we conserve and utilize energy efficiently.
